How to Make a Vegan Pumpkin Spiced Latte: A Cosy Autumn Treat! 🎃 🍂

Here’s our guide to crafting a delicious vegan pumpkin spiced latte from the comfort of your own home! 

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 500ml of your favourite plant-based milk (oat, almond, or soya work well)
  • 2-3 tablespoons of pumpkin purée (tinned or homemade)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup (or any vegan sweetener of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice (blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves)
  • A shot (or two) of espresso or 120ml of strong brewed coffee
  • Vegan whipped cream (optional, but delightful for that extra indulgence!)

Method:

  1. Prepare the Pumpkin Mix: In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the pumpkin purée, pumpkin spice, and maple syrup. Stir continuously for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld and the mixture to thicken slightly.

  2. Add the Milk: Slowly pour in the plant-based milk, continuing to whisk until the mixture is warm. Be careful not to let it boil; you just want it heated through and slightly frothy.

  3. Blend for Extra Frothiness: For a café-style latte, transfer the warmed mixture to a blender and blitz for about 30 seconds. This will create a creamy, frothy texture that's perfect for latte lovers!

  4. Brew the Coffee: Prepare your espresso or strong brewed coffee while your pumpkin milk mix is warming. If you like your latte extra strong, feel free to add an extra shot!

  5. Combine and Serve: Pour the hot coffee into a mug, then slowly add the frothy pumpkin milk mixture over the top. Stir gently to combine, then top with a generous dollop of vegan whipped cream if you wish.
